I was crushed when I realized NO ONE would hire my daughter – despite her incredible work ethic, her love of helping others, her bright, bubbly personality, and an indomitable spirit.

Watching her face rejection after rejection broke my heart and opened my eyes to a harsh truth: the world often overlooks people with special abilities.

Sadly, this kind of discrimination is far too common. Only 18% of adults with special abilities are employed, leaving so many talented, capable individuals without the opportunity to contribute, grow, and feel valued. 

That’s why Gabi & I decided to take matters into our own hands. Together, we’ve made it our mission to create meaningful employment opportunities for people of all abilities. Gabi’s Workforce – a 501(c)(3) organization – proudly employs over 40 incredible team members who inspire us every single day with their dedication and joy.

About Gabi's Workforce

The Challenge & Opportunity

The Population With Disabilities (PWD) in the U.S. is largely underserved. About 82 % are unemployed.

A Solution to Create Value

  • Open a warehouse to train employees, ship orders, and create products with an innovative community focus to employ PWD and provide community-based services- locally.
  • Grow from within and existing community base, friends, and relatives that have an “affinity” to support the PWD market segment.

Our Current Model

  • Our 1st warehouse opened in August 2020 at The Loading Dock in Raleigh. In 2024, we expanded operations and moved to Blue Co. (still in Raleigh!).
  • Gabi and friends pick & packing custom orders for a variety of Ecommerce stores (at our warehouse or onsite), shipping domestic and international parcels, assembling products like giant Jenga yard games (including sanding, staining, and waxing wood), label items, re-ticket retail merchandise, among many other things!

Gabi's Story

Today, Gabi’s Workforce partners with major brands such as Peter Millar and Amerisource Bergen.

We’ve grown to 47 employees, most of whom have special abilities, and we have a long waiting list of individuals eager for meaningful employment.

Our mission goes beyond creating jobs — it’s about fostering purpose, promoting inclusion, and demonstrating the incredible potential of people of all abilities.
